Hours of service

Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium can host cremation services from:

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

9am to 4pm,  Saturday, Sunday and Public Bank Holidays

No cremations will take place on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Requests for services outside these hours will be accommodated if possible.

Chapels

We have two nonconformist chapels that can be used for any form of cremation service and pre funeral ceremonies or rituals. The standard service time in our Chapels is 45 minutes. Scheduled service times are every 60 minutes.

Music

We understand music can be very important at any funeral. We have a state of the art digital music system that can play digital downloads, CDs or music via an MP3 player. Music can also be provided via a traditional organist. In addition, we have the facility to securely broadcast funerals to those who are unable to travel.

Ashes

After the cremation the ashes are carefully gathered together and placed in a separate biodegradable container until instructions for their disposal have been received.

It is not permitted to scatter any remains within the grounds, without the prior knowledge and written authorisation of the Cemetery Manager.
