Barnet Community Food Growing Project

Across Barnet, residents are coming together to grow their own food in parks and other publicly accessible spaces. Growing food is great for our health and wellbeing, lighter on your pocket and good for the planet. Community food growing brings together a diverse range of people from different backgrounds, communities and ages,  after all, everyone needs to eat!

There are several community food growing sites across Barnet, one of which is at Montrose Park, Burnt Oak. Anyone can join drop-in gardening sessions here, with no commitment - come when you can!  Meet other local people and enjoy being outdoors and getting your hands dirty. There will be a community food growing trainer leading each session.

Drop in sessions are available at:

Hollickwood Park/ Freehold Community Centre, N10 2EY

Tuesdays 10am to 12pm

Montrose Playing Field, Burnt Oak, NW9 5AT

Enter the park from The Greenway and then immediately turn right and follow the paths until you see the raised beds.

Wednesdays 12.00pm to 2.30pm
