A vacancy now exists for one Councillor for the Burnt Oak ward of the London Borough of Barnet (Burnt Oak Ward has three elected Councillors).
A by-election will be held on Thursday 13 February 2025.

Important dates for voters
- The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday 28 January 2025
- The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm, Wednesday 29 January 2025 (you must be registered to vote before you can receive a postal vote)
- The deadline to change existing postal or proxy arrangements is also 5pm, Wednesday 29 January 2025
- The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm, Wednesday 5 February 2025
- Photographic voter ID is required to vote at a polling station – if you do not have valid Voter ID, the deadline to Apply for photo ID to vote (called a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’) - GOV.UK for this election is 5pm, Wednesday 5 February.
Polling day: Thursday 13 February 2025, from 7am to 10pm.
Who can vote
You must be:
- registered to vote in the Burnt Oak Ward
- 18 years of age or over on polling day
- a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, or a qualifying citizen of the European Union (further information can be found at Register to vote | Electoral Commission)
- resident in the UK
- not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote
