Notice of disqualification of councillor

In accordance with Section 86 of the Local Government Act 1972, notice is hereby given that:
Joshua Conway
Councillor for Hendon Ward
has been disqualified from holding office as a Councillor of the London Borough of Barnet.
Councillor Conway became disqualified following a change to the status of his employment, which has meant that as of Thursday 18 September 2025, he was disqualified from being a member of the Council.
This disqualification has occurred pursuant to Sections 80(1)(a) and 80(3) of the Local Government Act 1972, which states that a person shall be disqualified from being elected or being a member of a local authority if they hold any paid office or employment in a school maintained by the authority.
As a result of this disqualification, there is now a Vacancy for one Councillor in the Hendon Ward of the London Borough of Barnet and a by-election will be called to fill the vacancy.
A Notice of Election will be published shortly, detailing the date of the by-election and providing other relevant information for prospective candidates and electors.
