NOTICE OF ELECTION

London Borough of Barnet

Election of one councillor for Hendon Ward on Thursday 30 October 2025

Notice is hereby given that:

  1. A by-election is to be held for a Borough Councillor in the Hendon Ward of the London Borough of Barnet.
     
  2. Completed nomination papers must be delivered in person to the Returning Officer at: London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW on any weekday from Friday 26 September 2025, between the hours of 10am and 4pm, but by no later than 4pm on Friday 3 October 2025.
     
  3. If more than one candidate is nominated for this by-election, a poll will take place on Thursday 30 October 2025 between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
     
  4. Applications to register to vote at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer no later than Tuesday 14 October 2025. Applications can be made online at: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
     
  5. Applications to vote by post or to change an existing postal or proxy voting arrangement must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 15 October 2025.
     
  6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate (a free voter ID document), or an Anonymous Elector's Document valid for this election, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 22 October 2025.
     
  7. New applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 22 October 2025.
     
  8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons arising after 5pm on Wednesday 22 October 2025 must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 30 October 2025.
