Food labels help consumers make informed decisions about what they eat. Labels must be accurate and must not be misleading or make false claims.

All food businesses must follow good safety laws. Our Food Safety and Standards team enforces these laws.

Allergens

Food business operators are required to provide allergen information. This can be provided in the name of the food or identified by wording such as ‘This food contains the following allergens’.
