Shisha lounges
General advice for businesses
If you own a business that sells or supplies shisha you must follow certain legal requirements.
Smoking is only allowed in shelters or outdoor areas that are not enclosed or substantially enclosed. This also applies to shisha as the law classes shisha smoking the same as cigarette smoking.
The following notice should also be clearly displayed on the premises: It is illegal to supply tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18.
Businesses selling tobacco products should ensure that these have been legally imported into the UK. If shisha molasses contain tobacco, then these should be labelled with the same written and picture warnings that are on cigarette packs.

Hygiene
Premise owners must ensure that shisha pipes and hoses are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between uses, as these items are shared by multiple people.
To further minimise the risk of infection, it’s recommended that you provide disposable mouthpieces for each customer.
