About Us
We provide psychosocial and practical interventions for people who are experiencing mental health challenges and want to gain strategies and skills to move forward independently in their life.
Our work is guided by the general wellbeing, early intervention, and prevention criteria of the Care Act 2014.
What do we offer?
- An assigned Key Worker who will be your main contact from the point of initial assessment. Together you will co-create a personal care and support plan, review your goals and plan how to facilitate community engagement.
- We run a range of Enablement courses offered on a monthly rolling programme to increase your coping strategies and help you reach your personal potential.
- We work in Partnership with primary care, secondary care and third sector. Our partners include North London NHS Foundation Trust partners, in- house Mental Health Social Work colleagues, IAPT (Let`s Talk Barnet), Outreach Barnet, The Barnet Wellbeing Hub, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Age UK, Mencap.
- Our specialist courses include Hope Through Action – You Are Not Alone (suicide prevention) and a Carers group.
What does Enablement mean?
Enablement means empowering you to take control of your own mental health and your life using various helpful tools and strategies.
Our fully integrated care model is strengths based and co-productive.
Our aim is to put the power back into your hands which will be explored through your journey with The Network.
We are passionate about meeting people where they are at and have included Active Outreach for new clients who need additional support to access our service offer.
Enablement Courses
- Action for Wellbeing (6 sessions over 3 weeks) focuses on the achievement of goals established with your Key Worker. It focuses on motivation and the awareness of obstacles and triggers and how to manage them. These sessions encourage implementing practical and realistic changes in your life within the context of a group.
- Carers Group (6 sessions over 6 weeks) explores the importance of maintaining your sense of self and positive mental health within a caring role. Aiming to develop healthy wellbeing practices, to increase your social connections and enhance the carer’s well-being.
- Coping Strategies for Wellbeing (2 session workshop) was co-produced by The Network’s Community Engagement Workers, The Client Forum, and Peer Support worker. It was created using personal lived experience to develop coping strategies to maintain well-being and manage positive change.
- New Steps (6 sessions over three weeks) is a psychosocial course offering knowledge and skills to better manage your mental wellbeing. It focuses on gaining insight to support emotional regulation, developing positive thinking patterns, behaviours, and effective communication.
- Self-Care & Kindness (1 session workshop) promotes the incorporation of self-care practices in your life. It emphasises the importance and benefits of taking intentional action to maintain wellbeing.
- Hope Through Action – You Are Not Alone (suicide prevention) - psychosocial model and training for anyone who has experienced suicidality personally or through others.

All groups are delivered in a hybrid way (i.e. online and in person) except for Hope Through Action – You Are Not Alone, where participation is in person only.
Partnership Practice
- We participate and inform from a clinical strength-based perspective in various weekly panels and forums to include Joint Case Management meetings with The Barnet Wellbeing Hub, IAPT (Let`s Talk Barnet), MENCAP, mental health teams, social prescribers.
- The Network works in partnership with CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and Children and Family Services. Our transition model aims to directly address the gap between children and adult mental health services. We accept Clients from age 17,5 working in a collaborative partnership with Children and Families.
The Network User Check In/Forum
The Network User Check In/Forum is a vehicle for project co-production where The Network clients contribute to the development of the service. This is evidenced by our launching of Suicide Prevention Manual- distributed across the borough – a project funded by Public Health.
