Cashless parking

Parking: PaybyPhone, Text (SMS) or use PayPoint

You can use a cashless payment for car park spaces and on-street parking by phone online using the PayByPhone app, by text (SMS) or at a PayPoint.

Register for PayByPhone

You need to register your vehicle registration number and payment card details. Visit the PaybyPhone website to register:

You only need to register once. The next time you need to pay for parking enter the location number, parking duration and 3-digit security number on the back of the credit or debit card that you registered with. The correct amount will then be charged to this card.

Use PayByPhone

You must enter on the app or website the:

  • length of time that you’re parking
  • location number of the PayByPhone street or car park sign

You can choose to receive text message reminders that tell you when your paid-for time is running out. This lets you extend your parking without returning to your car.  There is a fee of 10p per text for this service.

Use Text (SMS)  

Text 65565 with LOCATION (see on-street signage), DURATION (in minutes) and the 3-digit security code from the back of the registered payment card (CVV).  

For example, if you want to park a vehicle with the number plate TT99ZZZ at location 9545 for 15 minutes and the CVV for your registered payment card is 999, you should type 9545 15m 999 TT99ZZZ. 

Wait for text confirmation that parking has started.  

You do not need a smartphone to pay by telephone or text (SMS).  

Use PayPoint

You can pay for parking with cash in over 100 local retailers offering the PayPoint service.   

To pay at a PayPoint shop you will need:  

  • the parking location shown on the sign where your car is parked  
  • your vehicle registration number  

Ask at the counter of a PayPoint shop to pay for your PayByPhone parking. They will ask for the above information and then process your transaction on your behalf.  

The shop will then take your payment and provide you with a receipt.

Alternatively, you can send the word CASH via SMS to 60075 along with the PayByPhone location of where you're parked. You will receive a reply with details of your 2 nearest PayPoint shops.
