Business food waste: changes from March 2025

From March 2025 all businesses in England with the equivalent of 10 or more full time staff will need to separate food from other waste types, ensuring it's collected for recycling.

This is required under new laws introduced in the Environment Act 2021.

The aim is to reduce the amount of food waste sent to disposal. Increasing the process that converts food waste into energy and valuable by-products.
