Barnet Means Business: Investment opportunities across the borough

Barnet Council wants to bring new growth to the borough and is seeking new capital investors and growing businesses to build, develop and locate in Barnet.

Why Barnet?

Barnet is a borough that delivers growth. We’ve built close to 2,000 homes a year for the past five years and have an ambitious target of 44,000 new homes by 2036.

Our award-winning planning authority is one of the busiest in the UK, processing 6,000 applications annually and one of the highest performing councils in London for house building.

We have a track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and regeneration schemes, including London’s newest mainline station, Brent Cross West. Barnet Council is a sector leader when it comes to delivering the capital’s growth agenda, leading on some of the UK’s largest developments and harnessing the power of partnerships.

What are the opportunities?

  • Brent Cross Cricklewood: the biggest redevelopment Barnet has ever undertaken and one of the most ambitious in Europe, including the new Brent Cross West station.
  • Colindale: a major regeneration area with more than 6,400 high quality new homes built within a pipeline of 12,760 up to 2036, plus a £29m investment in a new tube station.
  • North Finchley: a masterplan including 1,100 new homes across four plots, new public realm, leisure facilities and a library creating space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
