Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme
The Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration programme is a multi-billion pound development which will create a brand new community in Barnet, whilst also providing a host of benefits for our existing residents. It is one of the Mayor of London’s key growth projects, and amongst one of the most ambitious across Europe.

A new town
Brent Cross Town will be a new park town at the heart of the development. It will include 6,700 new homes, office space for up to 25,000 jobs, and a high street offering a mix of shops, cafés and restaurants.
The scheme is built around a number of pioneering concepts, including providing a ‘15-minute town’ where people can work, socialise, and learn all within a 15-minute radius of their home, and having a bespoke ‘sound framework’ that helps to shape the design.
Existing schools will be moved to new upgraded buildings, while the town will include eight public squares, and seven new and improved parks, with facilities for everything from traditional sports like tennis and football to activities like bouldering, parkour and BMX.
Transport
Brent Cross West station will be the first major new mainline train station in London in over a decade when it opens in 2022. The new station programme is being led by the council.
The station is expected to see two million journeys in its first year, rising to five million by the time the regeneration scheme is completed in 2031, with up to eight trains per hour.
Transport improvements also include major works to roads, including junction improvements on Cricklewood Lane, installing new traffic signals and street lighting, and creating new footways and highway surfaces. Cycle paths and footways are also being embedded in the new town from the outset, to ensure that Brent Cross Town is built for the 21st century.
