Census 2021 is in full swing in Barnet. The letters, with unique access codes, have all gone out to Barnet households and responses are already coming in.

Households across Barnet will be asked to take part in Census 2021 this spring. The census, run by the Office for National Statistics, is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every ten years since 1801, with the exception of 1941.
The Barnet Integrated Care Partnership launches £150k fund to support local communities

The Barnet Community Innovation Fund is a new grant scheme designed to help build stronger relationships between Barnet residents, the Voluntary and Community Sector, local NHS services, and Local Authority, to achieve better health and mental wellbeing locally. The fund will do this by supporting innovative ideas from Barnet’s voluntary and community sector on how to work with our diverse communities. It will build on established successful partnerships that have grown during the pandemic.

In a year when we have marked the 75th anniversary of VE Day and the 80th anniversary of the start of the Blitz, Remembrance Day has a particular resonance in 2020, and the desire to remember and pay tribute to our Armed Forces and war dead has perhaps seldom been stronger.
Barnet Council has launched Discover Barnet, a campaign to support the local businesses that create Barnet’s vibrant high streets and town centres – and the people behind them. Discover Barnet highlights the vital role that small businesses play in Barnet’s communities and economies by focussing on seven local businesses who have been serving Barnet residents for many years.
Barnet Council has allocated £50,000 for Crowdfund Barnet, a new round of funding to back ideas across the borough. The crowdfunding platform welcomes ideas from local Barnet residents and will put local people at the heart of its strategy to help Barnet build back better through more vibrant, resilient and connected communities.
