Council officers discovered that the Sandringham Road home in Golders Green NW11 9DP had no fire alarm or emergency lighting systems during a routine inspection. They found that six people were living at the address, which was only licenced to house five people.

There will be a 2.99 per cent increase to General Council Tax this year.  The increase in Council Tax, which was approved by Budget Council on Tuesday, 5 March, will mean an extra £36 per year for a Band D property.  

The Corporate Plan – Barnet 2024 is focused on three main outcomes: A pleasant well-maintained borough that we protect and invest in; our residents live happy healthy independent lives with the most vulnerable protected. The final outcome is safe and strong communities where people get along.

The Commission’s plans would mean changes to all ward boundaries in Barnet. A 10-week public consultation on the recommendations begins today and will end on 13 May2019.

Due to continued reports of alcohol related nuisance and anti-social behaviour in the High Barnet area, we are considering introducing a PSPO. This order will allow us to impose restrictions and conditions within the defined PSPO area which will help deal with alcohol related nuisance and improve enjoyment of the area for the local community.

Smoking is the largest cause of preventable deaths in England. Smoking accounts for nearly 80,000 deaths each year. One in two people who smoke die from a smoking related disease. Thousands of people have given up for good – you could be one of them!

The Brent Cross Cricklewood (BXC) regeneration programme will deliver 7,500 new homes, more than 3 million sq ft of workspace, up to 27,000 new jobs, new and improved schools and parks and the new station which will link to central London in under 15 minutes.

During the closure, our partners at Better will be completing significant improvements including plant and machinery upgrades and refurbishment of poolside with new changing facilities, new vanity area, new lockers, improved customer flow and layout. The plant room improvements include a new air handling system that will improve the air quality for spectators and swimmers.
