Barnet Climate Action Month 2025
Skip to:
If you're organising or considering organising an event which promotes climate action, sustainability or Net Zero in Barnet, we want to hear about it!
We are delighted to announce that BCAM will be taking place again from 1 to 30 June 2025, and we are inviting community organisers to register events to be promoted as part of the programme.
BCAM runs alongside London Climate Action Week to raise awareness of Barnet’s commitment to becoming a net zero borough by 2042 and promote, accelerate and celebrate climate action across Barnet in all its forms. Barnet’s community has always been its biggest strength and we’re eager to find out what you are already doing or considering doing.
What types of events are we looking for?
We ask that event organisers align with the ethos of BCAM to be collaborative, inclusive and community focussed. This means limiting barriers to participation by encouraging people of all ages from all communities to get involved for free or at a minimal cost to help people learn more about climate action and sustainability.
- A practical activity/workshop (e.g gardening/making something from sustainable materials/walking tours etc.)
- A talk or panel discussion
- A greenspace celebration
- An exhibition or art installation
- Cultural events, faith and community gatherings
- Anything else that engages residents of all ages across the borough
If you are a member of a community group hosting an event from 1 to 30 June 2025, or would be willing to host an event during this period, we would love to hear from you and connect you with other event organisers.
Express your interest in Barnet Climate Action Month
*Please note event organisers carry full responsibility for their event including the venue, digital platform and event logistics. The Council are unable to provide any support for these events other than promotion through our BCAM media channels.

Barnet Climate Action Month 2024
Last year, Barnet Council launched its first ever Barnet Climate Action Month (BCAM) from 10 June to 7 July 2024, promoting an exciting range of events, appealing to residents of all ages across the borough. BCAM featured as part of London Climate Action Week 2024 (22-30 June), one of the world’s largest independent climate change events hosted by E3G.
25 events took place across the borough attracting over 700 attendees, including an Eco Show and Tell for Clean Air Day, two workshops run in association with Bloomberg on climate risk and a community wellbeing garden launch party with Incredible Edible. It was celebrated at a closing event held at the Royal Air Force Museum featuring performances, the announcement of the winners of the BarNET ZERO Challenge, the launch of the Council’s first ever Sustainability annual report and presentations from community climate action groups formed in response to our Citizen’s Assembly on Biodiversity and Climate Change.
“Everyone was happy to contribute for a good cause…[and] were thrilled to be part of the creation of public art” – BCAM 2024 organizer
Together we want to spark ongoing interest in sustainable topics and activities, to inspire everyone to take part.
