Barnet Climate Action Month (BCAM) 2025

Barnet Climate Action Month (BCAM) will be taking place from 1 to 30 June 2025.
BCAM will run alongside London Climate Action Week to raise awareness of Barnet’s commitment to becoming a net zero borough by 2042 and promote, accelerate and celebrate climate action across Barnet in all its forms. Barnet’s community has always been its biggest strength and we’re eager to find out what you are already doing or considering doing.
You can view the BCAM 2025 events directory here.
Many events in the BCAM programme are also featuring in the London Festival of Architecture. Find out more about the London Festival of Architecture.
What types of events will feature in BCAM 2025?
BCAM will highlight a programme of events that are collaborative, inclusive and community focussed. They will limit barriers to participation by encouraging people of all ages from all communities to get involved for free or at a minimal cost to help people learn more about climate action and sustainability. Events being promoted will include:
- Practical activities/workshops
- Lectures
- Local summer festivals
- Exhibitions and art installation
- Cultural events, faith and community gatherings
If you are a member of a community group hosting an event from 1 to 30 June 2025, or would be willing to host an event during this period, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via barnetzero@barnet.gov.uk.
*Please note event organisers carry full responsibility for their event including the venue, digital platform and event logistics. We are unable to provide any support for these events other than promotion through our BCAM media channels. For event planning, risk assessment and health and safety guidance, please refer to our events page or email barnetzero@barnet.gov.uk.
Barnet Climate Action Month 2024
Last year, Barnet Council launched its first ever Barnet Climate Action Month (BCAM) from 10 June to 7 July 2024. Working with community groups and Middlesex University, the Council promoted an exciting range of events, appealing to residents of all ages across the borough. BCAM featured as part of London Climate Action Week 2024 (22-30 June), one of the world’s largest independent climate change events hosted by E3G.
25 events took place across the borough attracting over 700 attendees, including an Eco Show and Tell for Clean Air Day, two workshops run in association with Bloomberg on climate risk and a community wellbeing garden launch party with Incredible Edible. It was celebrated at a closing event held at the Royal Air Force Museum featuring performances, the announcement of the winners of the BarNET ZERO Challenge, the launch of the Council’s first ever Sustainability annual report and presentations from community climate action groups formed in response to our Citizen’s Assembly on Biodiversity and Climate Change.
“Everyone was happy to contribute for a good cause…[and] were thrilled to be part of the creation of public art” – BCAM 2024 organiser
Together we want to spark ongoing interest in sustainable topics and activities, to inspire everyone to take part.
