Celebrating your achievements

Why is it an important step in our sustainability journey?

Once you have evaluated progress on your sustainability journey, it is also important to update your Climate Action Plan to reflect the new insights and new opportunities you’ve gained, so that you can improve its feasibility and impact.

Once you update your Climate Action Plan, you will be clear on how you can most effectively take action across the four pillars and build school capacity for the upcoming school year.

Applying for new opportunities

Part of implementing this update may be taking time during the summer holidays to sign-up to or prepare for starting new opportunities in the next term such as different sustainability initiatives, staff trainings and funding applications.

Celebrating your progress and updates

Communicating what you have achieved, and what you plan to do next, can continue to inspire further action and engage new members of your school community.

Showcasing your plans on your school website, through assemblies or at parent meetings can be a great way to spread the word about your achievements and the benefits to the wider school community.

How the council can support you in taking this step:

  • Showcasing your achievements on our website
  • Barnet Climate Action Month best practice workshop
  • Mentoring and support in applications or joining programmes
