Here are our top tips for keeping you and your stuff safe:

  1. stay aware of your surroundings
  2. make a note of and try to memorise important numbers for your emergency contacts
  3. plan your journey in advance and think about safe places at key stops along the way
  4. avoid using your phone outside train or bus stations
  5. keep your phone and valuables like earphones in a secure pocket or bag
  6. avoid using your phone in crowded or unfamiliar places
  7. don’t leave your phone and valuables visible on tables or in cars
  8. use headphones instead of holding your phone
  9. use fingerprint or face recognition on your phone and lock it after use
  10. use location sharing services like Life360 and Find my iPhone

Throw and run

If someone approaches you asking for your stuff, remember to Throw and run. Keep yourself safe by throwing what they ask for and running away in the opposite direction. Remember, your valuables are replaceable but you are not!
