The Deputy Mayor

The Deputy Mayor is Councillor Edith Ngozi David. The Deputy Mayor’s Escort is her husband Mr Flint David.

Cllr David was born in Nigeria and came to the UK in 1986 to further her education. She studied accounting and finance at London South Bank University and obtained a master’s degree in financial management from Middlesex University.

She has spent her career in public service, spending 10 years as Head of Finance and Corporate service at the Houses of Parliament, working for the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK branch and now in the charity sector. 

Elected as a local councillor for East Barnet in May 2022, Cllr David serves as the Chair of the Appeals Committee. She also sits on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Governance, Audit, Risk Management and Standards Committee.

In addition to committee roles, Cllr David is on the board of Edward Harvist Trust and The Valentine Poole Charity.
