Barnet Libraries are working with The Finchley Charities to provide patches for the CommUnity Quilt Project Barnet.
People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to join the free patch making workshops at Finchley Church End Library to create and contribute a piece to the quilt.
Materials are provided or you can bring your own.
Workshop dates,
- Wednesday 5 February, 2:30 - 4:30pm
- Saturday 8 March, 11am - 1pm
- Monday 31 March, 6 - 8pm.
Booking not required.

If you are unable to join a workshop, you can still take part by donating materials for the quilt itself. You can drop-in to Finchley Church End Library before the sessions and up to the date of the last one. A donations bin will be available or speak to a member of staff during staffed hours.
Materials required include,
- Big pieces of thicker/heavy duty fabrics (old curtains, tablecloths, thicker sheets or duvet covers, upholstery material scraps, canvas, tote bags) - particularly those in plain colours!
- Colourful fabric scraps from old clothes, bags etc.
- Ribbon, beads, buttons, embellishments
- Embroidery thread, sewing thread, and wool
- Embroidery needles
- Scissors
- Fabric paints and pens.
Please make sure any donated items are in clean, good condition – we can’t accept soiled or stained fabrics.
