Northway Gardens Tennis Courts
Received: 9 April 2025
Please may I make the following additional information requests:1. Out of the 65 sessions available on the 5 courts at Northway on a weekday through the clubspark portal, how many are free to book (assuming no season pass)?2. Out of the 130 sessions available on a weekend, how many are free to book (assuming no season pass)?3. I note the figures of online bookings provided, thank you. Prior to the refurbishment and LTA involvement, you will recall that the courts were not locked and accessible to all on an ad hoc basis. What assessment of ACTUAL users has been conducted (if any) comparing both booked and ad hoc users of the courts prior to refurbishment and LTA involvement vs. after? (Ie online bookings would have accounted for only a proportion of users prior to the refurbishment and LTA involvement). 4. Prior to the refurbishment and LTA involvement there were approximately 7 or 8 individual coaches/coaching companies offering a range of tennis coaching at Northway Gardens. How many coaching companies are now 'permitted' / 'licensed' to coach at Northway Gardens?5. I understand FG Tennis Ltd, a private company, has been granted exclusivity to the Northway courts for coaching. (A) Was this coaching exclusivity put out to public tender? If so, please could you provide the details of the tender process (ie when it was tendered, how many companies applied, was exclusivity a term offered by Barnet / LTA or was it part of FG Tennis Ltd's proposal)? (B) what impact assessment or consultation was undertaken to determine the impact of granting an exclusive licence to one provider on the availability of coaching, the impact on the businesses of those coaches providing coaching services privately?Thank you for your responses.
