Leader of Barnet Council, Cllr Barry Rawlings, said:
“Today, it is one year since the terrorist attacks of 7 October in Israel.
“We remember the immense loss and grief experienced by so many in Barnet’s Jewish community. And the pain of the hostages and their families - those killed and those still in captivity who must be released.
“We mourn the loss of innocent lives across the Middle East and extend our deepest sympathies to the victims, their families and all those who continue to suffer from the aftermath of the 7 October attacks.
“Barnet’s strength is its diversity. We have worked hard with our partners and faith leaders to tackle hate crime, to support our communities and to look for that which unites us. We will continue in this important task.”
