The Barnet Healthy Heritage Walks were launched on Saturday by our Mayor and Wellbeing Champion, Cllr Caroline Stock, with support from the Ramblers and British Guild of Tourist Guides.

Our first guided walk, from Hendon to Mill Hill, attracted members of the Ramblers, Age UK, Diabetes UK, councillors, MP Matthew Offord, residents, their children and some dogs. It was the first of six new Barnet Healthy Heritage Walks to promote the borough’s history. The rain held off, and attendees learned about the rich history of Hendon and Mill Hill while socialising and exercising.

The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Caroline Stock, said: “I want to thank everyone who came out to support this initiative in a such positive and inspiring way. There was a real sense of community coming together to explore history of our borough while also improving our own health and wellbeing.”

Please watch out for our Totteridge walk to be organised in September. We have also published a series of audio-guided walks that residents can enjoy at any time they like.
