Fifteen new homes for affordable rent have been completed at Coppetts Road in Friern Barnet. The nine maisonettes and six houses will provide much-needed homes for families in Barnet and will contribute to Barnet Council's commitment to deliver 1,000 new council homes by 2026.

Of the 15 new homes, six are four-bedroom family homes, two of which are fully adapted for wheelchair users. The remaining nine homes are a mixture of maisonettes and flats. Each home has been designed to ensure the best possible quality of life for residents and with a focus on sustainability.

The new homes have been built sympathetically alongside the Martins Walk Estate and use green space and landscaping to enhance shared public areas. The work also included pavement and highways improvement.

The architects for the scheme were RCKa. The homes were built by Kind & Co. on behalf of Barnet Council and will be managed by Barnet Homes. The scheme was part-funded by a Greater London Authority grant of £100,000 per home, totalling £1.5m.

Elliott Sweetman, Chief Executive at The Barnet Group said "We’re delighted to have built these new homes for Barnet residents. The larger family homes in particular will help provide much-needed housing for families who need it most. These 15 homes are part of our house-building ambitions as we continue to respond to Barnet’s growing housing need.

Cllr Ross Houston, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Homes and Regeneration at Barnet Council said "These new homes will provide high-quality, long-term places to live for Barnet residents. We look forward to developing more homes as we look to fulfil our ambitious building targets”.
