Between 18 and 23 February, there will be a range of activities on offer to children and young people as part of our 0-19 Early Help Services, ranging from circus skills and motor mechanics, to drama, music production and app design.

Once again there will be a chance for young people to follow in the footsteps of King Henry VIII for a spot of Real Tennis. Young people can take to the court with two of the country’s leading coaches and try their hand at the sport at Middlesex University.

For those looking to put their cookery skills to the test, there will be a session on baking and decorating cakes and biscuits.

There will also be a chance to try squash, street dance and learn about web design.

Barnet’s libraries will also be hosting a range of activities including papercraft for kids – learn the Japanese art of Origami, and a chance for children to discover the intricacies of calligraphy.

On 19/20 February young writers can join author Savita Kalhan for a fun-filled writing session exploring all sorts of stories –  from action, adventure and fantasy, to horror and sci-fi.

Councillor David Longstaff, Chairman of the Children, Education and Safeguarding Committee, said: “Once again there is a tremendous array of activities on offer across the borough. From sport to crafts, there is something for everyone.

“These activities are a fantastic way for young people to socialise and try a completely new skill.

“I would encourage residents to check what’s on offer and get involved.”
