To mark the 20th anniversary of the 7 July terror attacks on London, we will be holding a minute’s silence at Full Council in remembrance of the 52 lives lost, the hundreds injured and all those survivors whose lives were changed that day.
Tragically, eight of Barnet’s residents lost their lives at the hands of terrorists who sought to drive a wedge between the communities that exist in harmony in our great and diverse city.
We pay tribute too to the emergency services and to all those members of the public who showed great courage that day to help their fellow citizens in their hour of need.
This is a borough and a city where residents of all faiths and creeds live and work together in peace. Alongside our partners, Barnet stands steadfast against hate and remains focused on strengthening all that unites us to keep this borough and city a place that residents are proud to call home.
