Wild Structures: Writing the Welsh Harp

Last updated:

Explore natural architecture in this creative writing workshop, where we’ll reimagine the Welsh Harp Reservoir through words. Once engineered to meet the needs of a growing city, the reservoir and surrounding green space has since taken on a life of its own — shaped by water, wildlife, and human impact. Through a sensory walk and guided prompts, we’ll consider how nature constructs, adapts, and responds to itself and us. What stories do the trees, the water, and even litter have to tell?

How many words to tell the world?

Young performing artists present a short live theatre show about the impacts of climate change. Through movement, poetry, and theatrical languages, the performing arts learners from Barnet Southgate College explore perceptions of growing on a planet radically in change. "How many words to tell the world" encapsulates the contrasts of the fragile aspects of planet Earth. Drops of water, fresh waterfall, floodings. Drizzle, rain, tempests. Breeze, wind, hurricanes. Summertime, heatwave. Holes in the ozone layer. Oceans, fish, and islands of plastic.
