Barnet Council yesterday (Tuesday 15 July) launched the Barnet Children & Families Autism Hub, a collaborative initiative with Resources for Autism, a national charity providing specialist support for autistic under 18s and their families. The new hub is dedicated to supporting autistic children and young people and creating a supportive, neuro-affirmative environment where families can access a wealth of resources and information, both before and after an autism diagnosis.

Barnet Council has granted planning permission for a major new residential development at Bunns Lane, Mill Hill, delivering 130 Build to Rent homes, fifty percent of which will be affordable. The homes, which will be owned and managed by the Council, will be built on a council-owned car park next to Mill Hill Broadway station.

A celebration event has marked the opening of a new 75-home extra care scheme in Hendon. Hester Court is a newly built extra care scheme specialising in supporting adults with care and support needs who want to live independently in their own homes, with access to on-site care and support. It has been built on the Upper and Lower Fosters estate in Hendon, as part of a wider development programme which will deliver a total of 217 new homes.
