About Anna

Within the last year, my dad went from walking unaided to a wheelchair. During this time, he spent a fortune on walking aids, in the hope that they would make his life easier, but many of these quickly proved unsuitable and were consigned to his garage.

For cost and environmental reasons, he was upset that there was no comprehensive ‘approved used’ second-hand market for mobility aids in Barnet or the UK. This inspired me to develop Eco Mobility.

What is Eco Mobility

Eco Mobility will revolutionise the accessibility market by creating an ‘approved used’ marketplace for mobility equipment.

The Eco Mobility website will allow users to donate mobility aids to those in need or to sell them. There will also be a premium service, where the products will be serviced by our team and sold with a guarantee, and a repair and maintenance service available.

Benefits to Barnet

Barnet has about 50,000 residents living with a disability and nearly 15% of its population is over 65. Many of these people require mobility aids, such as walkers, wheelchairs and scooters, items that are costly to purchase new, and for which there is no comprehensive ‘approved used’ market. When people no longer use these products, they often end up as landfill.

Eco Mobility will extend the life of mobility equipment, make it cheaper for people to purchase and, where items can’t be reused, we will recycle their parts, helping to reduce Barnet’s waste and bringing it closer to Net Zero.

We will also work with Barnet NHS and other local medical providers to help keep their mobility aids in use for longer and reduce their annual spend on these items.
