Woodhouse and the Rough Lots (Finchley N12)

The Woodhouse area of Finchley began with three houses called the Woodhouses sometime before 1655, which had become one house by the mid 18th century. It was home to the well-known plasterer Thomas Collins. In 1925 it became Woodhouse Grammar School.

The service covers fostering, as well as Supported Lodging Hosts and Special Guardians. We have to comply with the requirements set by the Children Act 1989 and the Care Standards Act 2000, and regulations made under those Acts, as well as National Minimum standards.
Cemetery and crematorium privacy notice

Our cemetery and crematorium service manages Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium. We are a multi-faith site and provide cremation and burial services seven days per week. We also provide post funeral services including memorial plaques and cremated remains memorials. The council is required to provide a funeral if the person is unable to pay for the funeral out of their estate. This is called a public health funeral.

Friern Barnet's Coat of Arms was granted to Friern Barnet in October 1938, while Finchley's coat of arms was granted in July 1933. The different parts of the shields and their supporters (the animals on either side) represent different parts of these two areas' history.
